Masters title: Cryptic moray eels: distribution, abundance, behaviour and size structure

Whilst much attention has been paid to the ecological role of reef sharks and predatory fishes such as serranids and lutjanids, less is known about moray eels. Their cryptic nature presents difficulties in understanding their distribution, abundance, behaviour and size structure. I aim to expand our knowledge of tropical and sub-tropical moray eel behaviour using stereo baited remote underwater video systems. Additionally, I will development a methodology to classify size distribution through head morphometry as a proxy for body length.
