PhD title: The spatial distribution of large pelagic species in Thai waters.

Although a large number of MPAs have been implemented, many of them have failed to achieve their goals as a result of the poor design. My project will focus on the effectiveness of the represented MPAs in protecting the large pelagic species considering the size of MPAs and the spatial distribution of targeted species. Mid-water BRUVs will be applied to fill the knowledge gap in spatial distribution. The outcome will support the design and configuration of efficient, appropriate, and effective MPAs.

Bio: I studied in Thailand and received a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Science and an MSc in Marine Science from Kasetsart University. After my graduation in 2016, I worked as a researcher assistant in the Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University. I participated in several projects around Thailand water, including the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. In 2022, I decided to join the Marine Futures Lab to pursue a PhD degree.
