Congratulations to Prof. Jessica Meeuwig and Dr. James Hehre on winning Singularity University’s Global Impact Challenge (GIC) for Western Australia and the finals in Melbourne! The GIC focuses on developing ideas and technology which can have a global impact for social good, specifically around our grand challenges in energy, environment, food, shelter, space, water, disaster resilience, governance, health, learning, prosperity and security.T
He University of Western Australia’s Marine Futures Lab won for their idea to halt and reverse global fisheries declines by developing open access technology for governments and stakeholders to better evaluate, manage and protect important fisheries. Dr. Hehre will be participating in Singularity’s Global Startup Program in Copenhagen and Silicon Valley over the next three months, linking the team with innovators and investors globally.
