Senior Technician: I am a senior research technician in the Marine Futures Lab and split my time between fieldwork, data curation, managing staff workflow and, the identification and analysis involved with BRUVs. I addition to BRUVs work, I have experience in a range of other marine research techniques, including:

Drone surveys (plastics sampling and for marine megafauna).
Catch and release fishing, used to measure size and collect tissue samples from a select range of species.
Seabed monitoring, using both Dropcams and Towed Video.
eDNA collection and filtration.
Seabird surveys from both stationary and moving vessels.
Underwater Visual Census, using SCUBA.
Seafood sampling (DNA metabarcoding) looking at seafood mislabelling.

Bio:
I grew up in Perth, Western Australia and have always had an affinity for the ocean. This interest led me to complete a BSc (Marine and Environmental Sciences) from Murdoch University.  I have over 10 years of experience working in the Marine Sciences. I have experience using a variety of sampling methods, with a particular focus on baited remote underwater video systems (BRUVs). I have been lucky enough to be part of 15+ field expeditions with the Marine Futures Lab.
